OP seemed cordial at the start but once I mentioned a deposit, he started to talk down to me, and then accused me of being Substance.
Definitely wouldn't recommend working with someone so bipolar.
You want a $250 deposit on something you can run off with, this is rune-server and you have no accredited certifications or any type of actual business to back you up besides your word. He was cordial the entire time, just because we would rather pay a professional developer than someone who has potential to fuck us over just like what already happened on this forum, with someone way more "validated" than yourself, we are not going to attempt to waste our time or money on someone who is no a business professional for us going first. It's a bad move and tactic, we would have had you do the work, show us proof, then we would pay, not for us to give you $250 up front and never hear from you again regardless of your "precious vouches" and what not everyone thinks means something here.
Hi. Sorry to burst your bubble, but he runs a UK limited company, Offlode LTD, look it up. Luqman is possibly one of the most professional and reliable people on this site. $250 is nothing in the grand scheme of things, lets be real about this. Almost any professional developer will ask for some form of upfront payment. I feel sorry for you if the people you've dealt with in the past have fucked you over for $250.
Edit: I'd also like to point out that RawHost hosts a couple of the biggest private servers out at the moment, so I'm not entirely sure that running off with $250 would be worth risking losing that clientele.
On this site maybe, we have been trying to use freelance developers who hold real certifications if not business licenses for doing such. I don't care what anyone here owns, again this is rune-server not real life nor a walk-in store front confrontation, nor is it an accredited site. If he registers on a freelance site, we will be more than happy to pay him the deposit through them, even though none require it. That's fair, and if not oh well. No point sitting here arguing about how cool people are and what they can or cannot do, bottom line is we are not trying to waste money in our situation as it's already happened a lot on these forums.
It doesn't matter if its $5000 or $250, he would run off with the $250 deposit (possibly). I don't care if he runs off with $5, we would still be pissed off about it because it's money our of our pockets. You don't get rich by blowing money and losing it being dumb.
