Graphics cards are currently in an extreme shortage. The GTX 970 4GB alone will cost you $400+, even if it's been used. Thank the crypto markets for that one.

This would probably cost you far more than either of you estimated.
    • GTX 970 4GB: $400
    • i7 4790K: $400
    • 16GB RAM: $160
    • NZXT H440 White: $100-120
    • Corsair 550W Bronze: $60
    • 2TB HDD=$65

You're looking at $1100+ for this setup.

P.S. in the future use this fantastic website called pcpartpicker (or even just google the parts and look on amazon/newegg) and don't make other people do your work for you

The value of the product drops dramatically if it's been used, even if it's only been used for less than an hour, you can already take like 30% off the price; needs to be in the original packaging to get anywhere near the shop price. His evaluation is incorrect of course but it's nowhere near 1.1k either, I'd say roughly at around 700ish.

    you're pricing those at brand-new. if you're paying $400 for a 970, you may want to re-consider. i paid around $150 for my 1060.

ot: mb, kris' estimation is probably more accurate. nonetheless, people will try to negotiate with you if you're trying to sell it locally through craigslist or similar. i've seen better builds that go for $600, simply because there are too many people selling their used desktops/gaming desktops. i can't speak for all regions but that is what seems to be going on in my area.

My pc was 1.1k, i dont buy second hand products and yeah true but what if the pc was kept cleant weekly and still functions as brand new with no errors?

150$ for 1060? I would have done that but I cant trust a seller on amazon or ebay, id trust it original from the official stores online and these parts are original with original packaging. You're right but i wouldnt mess with a 150$ 1060 which is too good to be true, may not for you but it may function as you expect.

It really doesn't matter. You can never 100% confirm that the PC was never used or that the parts are in fact 100% solid and not corrupt in any way. There's always the possibility of something internal being wrong with it or whatever, something that can't be seen at first; that's pretty much why the price instantly lowers after you unbox your shit; The price of it should stay right around what I said though - Note: This is just an educated guess. I don't keep track of the prices of computer parts.

Yeah I get your point, after a year of owning a custom rig there will be faults no matter what but we cant tell, i wouldn't sell my PC for the price i brought it at, obviously second hand products sell for cheaper but yeah, thanks for your view
