i was targeted a while ago, seems it happens to most servers at one point
they don't really care for your player base as i had literally like 5 players when i got bombarded with them
Imho this is fake. It looks exactly like other letters which people have posted in the past.
Additionally:
I personally think that any half decent legal person would not make a basic typo like that (especially if they re-use the letter as a templet).Quote:
We look forward to hearing from you by 19th Ocotber2012.
A lot of DMCA's are fake. But hosting companies don't usually want to have the threat of legal action against them, so they just comply with them.
Not saying all are fake, but a good chunk are.
most likely all fake
shouldnt receive more than 1 from same person/lawyer
You keeping it up?
Somebody doesn't like you, try warez-host man? Pretty sure they ignore DMCA's
Could just use a reverse proxy and then you can host anywhere in the world you want. It is a good idea to check email headers and verifying where the email was sent from, Jagex do have a SPF record on there domain dns records, so invalid emails should be auto flagged.
Change the link and tell them to piss off wait until next time.
Not all mail servers check the SPF record.Quote:

My webhost sent me the same thing and told me they received a DMCA from jagex.
But most of the time those are just random people from the internet sending it to the webhost to get your server down, just keep hosting it at random places(free uploading sites) untill they stop or find a webhost which ignores those dmca's.
