I found an offshore host that explicitly says
We protect our customers Data and Information, unlike many other companies, we will refuse to give any of your personal information or details out to legal services or public enquires.
    This company has a 256mb ram w/ 512mb burstable vps for $19.95 or a 512mb ram w/ 1024mb burstable for $29.95.

This company seems very professional and I have talked to them a bit. I feel good about them. I do not, however, feel that Frantech is all that reliable.

So here is my question: Should I use Frantech because they are a considerable amount cheaper, or should I go with the much more [seemingly] legitimate company, WRZHost?

I understand that. If it was the key for everything, what would be the point in asking this question? Exactly.

RAM isn't the key for everything and bandwidth is not much of an issue, nor is space for both of these, which is why I am here asking about the companies' service so I can see if the price difference is worth it.

Hey Tj, is there any reason why you feel Frantech is unreliable?
We own our own equipment, and since that is true, we wouldn't go down as easily as many of these other companies that rent theirs, we have been in business for over a year now i believe, hosting many big rsps.

Any questions feel free to submit a ticket/post here

I can't help but feel you are unreliable with all the negative comments I see about Frantech and it's downtime, lies, etc. I have seen many posts showing Frantech in a negative way. I understand that taking things out of context may not be fair but I still can't help but be weary of a company that has so many upset customers.

And even some topics on here I have seen in the past have some very unsatisfied people.

Webhostingtalk is not the best forum, these are customers before the new hardware/support we have in place.
Most of them over exaggerated the situation, The first one made the mistake of contacting Francisco FIRST before trying to open a ticket.
That thread is also quite old and does not apply to the new hardware.

The second thread was a problem with the IP block that was not our fault, we were able to get it back online within an hour or 2.

The third thread has improved since 95% of customers are now on the new nodes, so we can upgrade the old ones. We were busy the last few months trying to get that done.

The fourth thread, Setup times have improved dramatically, Again, support times have improved, along with making sure we reply within half a day at max.

In no ways will we EVER lie about a problem.

Most of those problems could have been them also, some people try to enable firewalls blocking themselves out of the server.

Hope this solves any questions you have
