I'm going to be offering over the next 2-3 days hosting of any server, free.
Reason for this is i am going to be testing suitability of my new server machine to run a private server on a constant basis, you do not have to include any source code what-so-ever and do not include anything you do not want to be put onto the server, i am only intrested in running the server so i can get diagnostics on my server machine all through the time it hosts the server and thought it would be a nice opportunity for somebody to have their server hosted 24 hours a day for a couple of days free of charge.
Its just an idea, it may help some of you out who don't have the ability to host your server 24 hours a day. There are also some requirements to the architecture of your server which is listed below.
Requirements:-
- Server must NOT be using the traditional Thread-Per-Client layout.
- Your server should have been worked on for a while and atleast have a fair few
players. Main reason for this is because the point of this test is so i can test the
suitability of my machine, and there is no point in doing this test when the server
just sits idle.
Specs of machine:
(Not the best in the world, hence why i am testing it now)
Intel Pentium 4, running at 2.4Ghz
1.3GB RAM
8MBit connection, 7600rx, 600tx
Host OS: XP SP3
If you choose to help me out with this, i will provide extra hosting time for a few days extra providing you keep to the requirements above.
